Howdy Friends,

First of all, thank you so much for the support you’ve given us with the release of our new album! We’ve had a blast touring all over the U.S in support of the record, and can’t wait to continue on the trail to the American East coast and Canada in the coming weeks. Read on for the latest scoop, including details on our involvement in two summer films out this month, information on our tour and more…

A Track on the Lone Ranger Score…and Silver Screen Time!

We’re excited to share with you that one of this summer’s highly anticipated films—Disney’s The Lone Ranger—will feature Pokey, Ryan, Adam and Joey, both on the score and on the screen! The boys recorded the track ‘Red’s Theater of the Absurd’ with Jack White, which will appear on the original score to the film (not be confused with the original soundtrack!). And if you head out to the theater, be sure to keep an eye out for some familiar faces, as the boys will have an on-screen cameo as well. The movie (starring Johnny Depp, directed by Gore Verbinksi, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer) comes out this week on July 3!

Speaking of summer films…one of our tunes will be featured in another movie out this month, Pawn Shop Chronicles. The film has quite an ensemble cast (including Paul Walker, Elijah Wood and Matt Dillon) and will be released July 12. Keep an ear out for our Riverboat Soul tune “La La Blues” in the movie!

The Summer 2013 Tour is Eastward Bound in the USA…

It’s been wonderful to spend some time at home over the past couple of weeks, but we’re anxious to get back on the road. This July, the tour is heading East through the mountains and continuing to the coast and up to the Northeast. We can’t wait to see some of you along the way!

We’re very excited to be playing again in Georgia on July 9, at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. The show will be a blast–get your tickets here!

Folks in the Appalachian region, we’re making a few stops in your neck of the woods as well. Catch us in Abingdon, VA (Farmer’s Market Pavilion), Asheville, NC (The Grey Eagle) and at the Red Wing Roots Music Festival in Mount Solon, VA.

We’ll also be performing in Glenville, PA (Snail Pie Lounge) and Philadelphia, PA (The World Café Live). We’ll continue on with a stop in upstate Rosendale, NY (Rosendale Café) and make our way to Massachusetts for a show in Northampton (Iron Horse Music Hall) and Boston (Great Scott).

A Handful of Dates in Canada & Major Festivals in Europe!

We’re off to Canada for a few performances in late July! We hope our fans up North can come out to one of our shows in Montreal (Petit Campus) or Toronto (Horseshoe Tavern). We’ll also be appearing at the wonderful Hillside Music Festival in Guelph, Ontario on July 27 and 28 (tickets for the festival can be found here!).

Come August, we’ll be hopping a plane to visit our friends across the Atlantic! We’re excited to play some infamous festivals, including Lowlands (UK), Pukkelpop (Belgium), Musikfestwochen (Switzerland), Tonder Festival (Denmark), and End of the Road Festival (UK). We hope you can make it out to a festival near you, and are definitely looking forward to these experiences!

Pokey LaFarge + JD McPherson Duet to Benefit Charity

We’re proud to announce that our very own bandleader Mr. LaFarge has teamed up with rockabilly renegade JD McPherson to release a very special, charity duet track under Rounder Records. The two recorded a version of Bob Wills’ tune “Good Old Oklahoma” in tribute to McPherson’s home state and to remind folks about the disastrous aftermath of a deadly string of tornados that ripped through the area this May.

100% of the single’s proceeds will be donated to Oklahoma City Community Fund’s Tornado Relief endowment.

Visit our online store to download “Good Old Oklahoma” and make your contribution! You can donate as little as the cost of an average song on iTunes, or opt add an additional amount of your choosing.

Grab Your Copy of the New Record!

Just a friendly reminder that the new album, Pokey LaFarge, was released last month! We hope you’ll give it a listen…audio samples are available on the multimedia page of our official website. The album is available on vinyl or compact disc in our online store.

Of course, we couldn’t have achieved any of this without the love and unwavering support that you guys give us each and every day—we can’t thank you enough for all of your positivity! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news and updates, as there are more BIG announcements coming this month that you won’t want to miss!

See you down the road!
