July 2012 Newsletter

Hello from Canada, y’all! Take a look at our newsletter below to see what we’ve been up to–and all the exciting things coming down the pipeline, too…for the full version of the newsletter, follow this link!

Howdy friends,

After a terrific bunch of festival gigs earlier this month, we’re enjoying a little R&R in the beautifully serene Canadian wilderness. Our travels have taken us many amazing places, but we’re thankful to have an opportunity to get in touch with the great outdoors–especially in a landscape as unique as the Arctic Circle! Our little vacation is the icing on the cake of the early summer festival trail we’ve been blazing…we couldn’t be having a better time! So far we’ve played for some great crowds at ROMP, Green River Festival, and the one and only Winnipeg Folk Festival. Thanks to everyone who came out to support us–we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Look Out Europe–New Tour Dates in the UK, France & Belgium!

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce another tour run through Europe…and we’ll be jetting across the pond as soon as this October! In the UK, we’ll be spending time in London, Liverpool, Dublin, Glasgow and more, including Cork, Ireland for the Cork Jazz Festival.  And those of you in France and Belgium…we’re heading your way in October, too! In France, you can see us in Paris and Nancy and in Belgium, we’re hitting clubs in Antwerp and Eeklo. Our last tour through Europe was seriously epic. We can’t wait to get back on stage for y’all, it’s a guaranteed good time. Consult the tour dates page on our website for further information on cities and venues…more details to come soon!

Fresh, New Goods Online!

We also want to alert y’all to the new merchandise we have available in our online store! A new t-shirt and poster design are now available for purchase on pokeylafarge.net and we think you’ll enjoy ’em…and keep an eye out for more new merch to come in the near future!

More Festival Dates in Canada & the US…

Our festival dates will continue throughout the rest of this summer…you can catch us playing various collaborative workshops and sets at some of the finest festivals around. We’ll be hitting Calgary Folk Festival in July and Edmonton Folk Music Festival and Regina Folk Festival in August. And don’t fret, American friends…in August we’ll be stopping through Philadelphia Folk Festival and Whispering Beard Folk Festival (Friendship, IN) as well as appearing at Sisters Folk Festival (Sisters, OR), Lotus Festival (Bloomington, IN) and Roots ‘N Blues ‘N BBQ (Columbia, MO) in September. We’re fortunate enough to play alongside a slew of honorable folk music legends and roots contemporaries at these renowned fests and we hope y’all can make it out to one (or more…it is summer, after all!).

More Shows with Jack White to Come…!

We’re also looking forward to our other gigs with Jack White, of course! We’ll be opening up for him on his Blunderbuss tour on August 10th at the awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado just outside of Denver. On top of that, we’ll be heading to the Pacific Northwest for Jack’s shows at the WaMu Theater (Seattle, WA) and the Rose Quarter Theatre of the Clouds (Portland, OR) in mid-August. Our experience with Mr. White in Los Angeles was unforgettable and we can’t wait to join forces again! If you haven’t yet heard Blunderbuss, be sure to check it out and keep an ear open for us on the track “I Guess I Should Go To Sleep”.

As always, take a look at our website for a full listing of tour dates as there are many we haven’t mentioned here. Thanks so much for the support from our fans and friends. Be sure to “like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Give us a shout…we’re hopin’ to hear from ya!

See you down the road,

Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three
