Howdy!

Welcome to our new and improved monthly email newsletter!  There are a lot of exciting things happening in the lives of Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three! Without further ado, let’s get down to all the nitty gritty…

New Release on Third Man Records

Pokey is pleased to announce the release of his newest single “Chitlin Cookin’ Time in Cheatham County/Pack it Up” on Jack White’s Third Man Records!  As part of the label’s “Blue Series,” this single will be available not only on traditional black vinyl, but on a very limited run of Tri-Color discs! Only 150 tri-colors were pressed… and unfortunately the tri-color version has already sold out (you may be able to snag one on Ebay), but the black vinyl version is available for purchase on his website (click here), and at his upcoming shows!

Online Store Now Open for Business

Pokey’s online store is now open for business!  We’ll be adding lots of new things in the coming weeks, but visit the “Goods for Sale” page now to purchase the new Third Man Records single, in addtion to Riverboat Soul.  Look for stickers, posters, t-shirts, and other limited edition items to be added in the coming weeks.
Vote for Pokey

Mr. LaFarge and his crew have received two 2011 Independent Music Awards Nominations!  The first is for the 2010 Free Dirt Records release Riverboat Soul for Best Americana Album.  The other nomination is for  the song “Claude Jones,” in the Best Americana Song category.  The song was composed by Pokey and South City Three guitar player Adam Hoskins.  Judge-selected winners will be announced soon, but you can show your support by visiting the IMA website and placing your vote here to determine the fan-based winners. Voting closes July 11th; don’t miss it!

New Full-Length Album from Pokey LaFarge & the South City Three Coming Soon

Keep your eyes peeled for Pokey’s new record, Middle of Everywhere.  The album will be released on Continental Records in Europe in May, and on Free Dirt Records in North America on July 19th.   Middle of Everywhere has 13 original tunes all penned by Mr. Lafarge himself, and includes a healthy dose of Midwestern country, Western swing, sweet harmony vocals, and hints of New Orleans style horns and lap steel, and all the vintage fun you’ve come to expect from a Pokey LaFarge release.  More details and sneak peeks of the album are coming soon!
