With a new record label home for Pokey, a weekend of US shows coming right up and a slew of tour dates in St. Louis and beyond, there’s lots of exciting news to share with you in this installment of the Bugle Call!
Pokey Signs to Rounder Records!
Notable roots music record label Rounder Records welcomes Pokey into their all-star roster which includes the likes of Robert Plant, Del McCoury, Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Bela Fleck, JD McPherson, Dr. John, Son Volt and many more stellar musicians.
Scott Billington, VP of A&R at Rounder said, “[Pokey’s] sound and his songs tap the deep roots of American music in a way that is both original and highly entertaining, and in that sense he has always seemed like a Rounder artist. So, welcome home, Pokey!”

This Weekend: Midwest Tour!
Starting Friday, November 21, Pokey and his band will be hitting the road for a weekend of shows in the Heartland. Up first is a sold-out show in Lafayette, IN at Duncan Hall! What better way to start the weekend?
Saturday, Nov. 22, the band will be rolling through Chicago, IL for a performance at Evanston Space with the rootsy R&B stylings of Bailey Dee kicking things off! Doors open at 7 and you can grab your tickets here…come on out and warm up on the dance floor, Chicago!
The band will wrap up the weekend in Cedar Rapids, IA at CSPS Hall on Sunday evening, November 23. Tickets are still available at this link!
Bringing in the New Year in St. Louis
Pokey LaFarge is headlining St. Louis’ First Night celebration! Not only will it be a new year, it is also St. Louis’ sestercentennial (250th) anniversary. First Night in Grand Center will be held on New Years Eve and will showcase the ever-talented spread of hometown artists and performers. Stay tuned at for updates and further performer announcements on the First Night website!
Come December, Pokey will also be performing solo as part of an intimate songwriter in-the-round presented by Songbird Cafe. The show will take place December 11at KWMU and will also feature local songsters Ryan Spearman, Kelly Wells and Tommy Halloran. The show is sold out, however more tickets might be released on December 7, so check back on the Songbird Cafe website at that time!
