Pokey and his band spent the balmy month of August on the European summer fest circuit with shows in the UK, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Check out this video of the band performing a rousing rendition of “Bowlegged Woman” at the Openluchttheater Caprera in Bloemendaal, The Netherlands.
Now back in the States, the gang is gearing up to take the Midwest by storm this September! Though the festival season is wrapping up we have some exciting events on the horizon this fall so be sure to read on to find out what all the buzz is about…
The Wheels are in Motion for Pokey LaFarge’s Central Time Tour!
With 5 bands collectively touring 13 cites this month, it’s safe to say September is all about Pokey LaFarge’s Central Time Tour!
This one-of-a-kind revue has something for everyone with special guest and master of ceremonies Dom Flemons guiding an evening of performances by Pokey LaFarge and his band, Joel Savoy, Jesse Lége and the Cajun Country Revival,The Tillers and The Loot Rock Gang.
This traveling, self-contained festival of American musical traditions will kick-off onSeptember 10 in Tulsa, OK at Cain’s Ballroom and conclude on September 24 in Columbia, MO at The Blue Note. The clock is ticking on tickets sales and markets such as Chicago have already sold out so be sure to secure your spot in advance by following this ticket link so you don’t miss out.

Keep an eye on Pokey’s Twitter page to collect clues about where you may find pairs of free tickets hidden in select cites. Pretty clever, huh? A total of eight tickets have already been hidden and discovered and up next is Kansas City, MO. If you live in the KC-area or just happen to be passing through this weekend stayed tuned to Pokey’s Twitter page where clues will be posted for where you can find two tickets to the Central Time Tour Show at Knuckleheads on September 11. The clues will be posted this Saturday, September 6 around noon (CT).
Wheatland Music Festival Just Around the Corner!
Pokey and the gang will spend this weekend (Sept. 6-7) performing at the Wheatland Music Festival in Remus, MI. The festival is presented by the Wheatland Music Organization whose mission is to “serve as a resource center for the preservation and presentation of traditional music and arts”. Check out the eclectic lineup and details on the festival here.
Pokey Returns to Australia in 2015!
In the Spring of 2015 Pokey will return to Australia to perform at the 26th Annual Bluesfest Byron Bay in Byron Bay, New South Wales on April 4 and 6. The band received a wonderfully warm Aussie welcome last year and plans are in the works to once again tour the continent in 2015 so be sure to watch out for more dates Down Under to be announced in the coming weeks. Good on ya, mate!
Pokey, The Tillers and Loot Rock Gang Come to Louisville, KY
Fresh off of the Central Time Tour why not keep the collaborative fun going? On September 25 Pokey and his band will join fellow Central Time Tour travelers The Loot Rock Gang and The Tillers for a highly anticipated night of music at Louisville’s premiere live entertainment venue Headliners Music Hall.
